Hello! My name is Tam, and I am a senior undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student attending UC Santa Barbara. My experience heavily relies on my work experience, research, and team design projects that have accumulated throughout my professional years. In the future, I hope to use mechanical engineering fundamentals and the skills that I have learned to work as a manufacturing/process engineer.

Research and Design
Throughout my undergraduate years, I have learned valuable skills by diving into projects with little to no knowledge of the subject matter. This craving to learn eventually led to some of my proudest accomplishments.
what i have done so far.
With the guidance of my design professor, I have taken part in a study that determines how effective phenolic crushable foams are in mitigating concussions in football players. In addition, I have rapidly prototyped an ergonomic coat hanger with my peers to effectively hang fabrics which won an award for Most Innovative at the UCSB Design Fair. Last quarter, I machined an air compressed flywheel motor that ran at a frequency of 3,355RPM and optimized the cooling of a CPU chip on COMSOL. Finally, my Evil Cat robot was made in collaboration with a junior engineer from a local elementary school in Goleta, CA. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara, I started work at an optics company, ZC&R Coatings for Optics, performing EB-PVD for thin film coatings.
